When playing poker, players are required to ante an amount before the game begins. Each player must then bet into the pot, called or raised, and the person with the highest hand wins the pot. The betting proceeds in a clockwise direction until all players have bet or folded. Poker can be played with up to eight players. However, more than eight players can play simultaneously.
